Painting sells at Lung Cancer Support Group.

The Newport & Monmouth Lung Cancer & Mesothelioma Support Group invited Chris to donate an original painting their inaugural charity ball, held on 14th November 2015 at the Marriot Hotel in Cardiff.

The evening was hosted by comedian Chris Corcoran and included a three course dinner, dancing, auction and special guest, ex Wales captain Ryan Jones.

The Royal Gwent & Nevill Hall Hospital Lung & Mesothelioma teams care for 400 newly diagnosed patients each year. A cancer diagnosis is devastating, unfortunately mesothelioma is always a palliative diagnosis and the majority of lung cancer patients also have a limited life expectancy. The Lung Cancer Specialist Nurses have set up the Newport & Monmouth Lung Cancer & Mesothelioma Support Group, this group meets monthly providing essential supportive care in a neutral environment. Patients and their families are welcome to attend. Aside from tea, biscuits and a chat, the group also enjoy day trips and Christmas meals. The patients who attend say that it is reassuring to meet other patients who have similar experiences.

The group has recurring costs and have high hopes for future activities, in order to achieve these they need your generosity! We would welcome any support you can offer, but it would be great to see you at the charity ball.

Congratulations to Owain, 24 from Neath who was delighted with the work ‘Poppies and Sunflowers’.
